Sarah Haskew and Wilson Charles are pleased to announce their upcoming marriage in Portland, Oregon on August 29th, 2009. They are having two private receptions for friends and family. One will be in Vancouver, Washington on the day of the wedding, and the other in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a few weeks later.
Sarah Haskew, daughter of Richard Haskew and Noreen Carsten of Skamania, Washington was born in Portland, Oregon in August 1981 and grew up in Skamania, Washington. She got her Associate’s degree in English at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and then received her Bachelor’s degree in English at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with minors in Communications and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She worked briefly in Provo, Utah and then went abroad to Taiwan to teach English for three years. She currently helps children of people who are learning English in the Fort Vancouver Public Library. She is studying Psychology/Social Work and Freelance writing and hopes to be a writer and educator and to support Wilson Charles in his business and career. Sarah has a good sense of humor and is a quiet woman sometimes but fun to be around. She enjoys practicing yoga and reading and studying many things.
Wilson Charles, son of Josephat Charles and Edeth Mango was born in Bellans, Haiti in August 1979. His primary education was in Bellans and he then attended Middle and High School in Port-Au-Prince. Wilson earned an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy at Healing Hands for Haiti. In Haiti he also studied Political Science and then came to the United States where he continued his education. He is a professional singer who has performed in many parts of the US and has sung with two professional choirs in Philadelphia. He went to music school in Haiti and Philadelphia and has hosted a couple of local community radio shows in Philadelphia. Currently, he is in his last year at the School of Piano Technology in Vancouver, Washington. Wilson has a good sense of humor and is fun to be around. You can often find him playing the piano or reading about Philosophy literature, politics, music, nature, and sports.
Sarah and Wilson met at a Young Single Adult church social activity in the summer of 2008 in Vancouver, Washington. After getting to know each other they fell in love and Wilson proposed while on stage before singing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Elton John.
In Sarah’s words: “Wilson is a real gentleman as everyone who knows him would agree. He is loved by most people who meet him. I feel he is the man of my dreams who can love and care for me for time and eternity. I love him dearly and I pray that the Lord will keep me by his side even when he turns 125 years old.”
In Wilson’s words: “I think she is the perfect person for me. She has everything I was looking for in a woman. I have no doubt in my mind that she is the one the Lord has chosen to be my eternal companion. I love her with all my heart and I also pray that the Lord will keep her by my side even when I turn 125.”
Wilson and Sarah agree with Levanjil TV to publish this article so everyone can follow our example of letting the Lord guide your heart when it is time for you to choose your eternal companion. Love is sweet. Love is good. Let’s love forever!
